FORE for the Kids! Mike Suzuki, District Vice-President of BMO and Gus Masi, Regional Director of Dilawri Automotive Group, presented a cheque to Joanne Johnson & Don Stevens, XL 103 Morning Show, at the 18th annual Don & Joanne Golf a Kid to Camp tournament on August 9, 2012.They are joined by Kids Cancer Care campers and Christine McIver, CEO of Kids Cancer Care. As featured in our July ezine, the Dilawri Automotive Group raised over $53,000 for two local charities in June. This was made possible through the generous support of our customers and our partnerships with the Bank of Montreal, CJAY 92 and XL 103. An additional $4,300 was raised through on-air auctions of impossible-to-get Garth Brooks tickets, donated by Dilawri.
In July, we profiled the first charity—Gerry Forbes' Secret Wish program on CJAY92—an initiative that helps families bridge the gap during incredibly tough times.
This month, we'd like to tell you about the second beneficiary—XL 103 Radio's Don and Joanne Golf a Kid to Camp tournament. This fundraiser is in support of Kids Cancer Care (KCC) which sends children who are battling cancer, and their siblings, to camp.
Kids Cancer Care provides safe, quality camp experiences for young people affected by cancer. Its summer camps offer children across Alberta the chance to escape the rigours of cancer treatments and bask in outdoor fun and adventure. It gives them the chance to just be kids again. At camp, they find much-needed camaraderie along with healthy doses of outdoor fun, including hiking, rafting, wall climbing, swimming, archery, high ropes and giant swing.
All of Kids Cancer Care’s camps are offered at no-cost to children and their families. The funds raised by you, our customers, will ensure that dozens of children will get to experience camp and forget, if just for a short while, about cancer and put the focus where it should be —on fun.
"It's truly a heart-warming experience to see the looks of pure joy on the kid’s faces while at KCC's Camp Kindle. You can tell they just love being at camp," says Don Stevens, who is also a board member of KCC. "It's gratifying to be part of a community that makes camp possible. Thank you to the Bank of Montreal, the Dilawri Automotive Group and your customers for being part of the KCC family of support."

September is almost upon us (how did that happen?) and it's time for kids to start thinking about heading back to school. Maybe you even have students heading off to university or college for the first time. But before you embark on your plans to turn their bedroom into your new yoga studio or man cave, you need to get them ready for school.
You want your kids to be safe wherever they go. Six airbags safe. And they will be in the all-new Hyundai Accent. The six airbags are standard on the new Accent, including front airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags and two row side curtain airbags. Anti-lock brakes and stability control nicely round out this car’s safety features.
And before you think "it's a small car, so we’ll have to give up something". Not with this great sub-compact. With the all-new Accent you get more space, style, and safety while still getting best in class fuel-efficiency^.
You will experience top-of-the-class driving in this subcompact. It's roomier than ever before. The well-designed interior offers more volume than you'd think possible from a car this size so there’s room to spare. Throw in Accent’s best in class fuel-efficiency^ and the cost of driving has never been this low.
Best of all, driving an Accent is fun. Take one look at the Accent, whether it's a 5-door Hatchback or 4-door Sedan, it's clear a lot of care went into styling. The sweet exterior styling and comfortable interior make it feel more deluxe than you’d expect from a car this well-priced. Maybe you’ll even keep it for yourself.
Fun, affordable and stylish. And winner of the 2012 AJAC best new small car under twenty-one thousand dollars.
Sounds like a Grade A car.
